Gampaha South group correspondent Former Minister and the Minuwangoda eletorate SLFP Chief Organiser Reggy Ranathunga said at a meeting held at Udugampala in Minuwangoda electorate that the government has taken all possible steps to help those people victimised in the tsunami disaster. Government is treating all people alike without discrimination, he said. The country has faced the most pathetic disaster in 2,500 year history. The coastal areas have been badly affected. They have lost their kith and kin. Our duty is not only to express condolence but also to help the affected irrespective of differences. Today the government and the Opposition together with other organisations have come together to overcome this difficult situation and to restore the country's normality. This is a commendable step which is to be continued for the betterment of the country. The implementation of united efforts will create a better nation. Most of the country's face disasters through national unity. Therefore the timely need of the government, opposition and others to dedicate to create a better nation. |
