The tidal waves may have washed away all their worldly possessions, but it certainly has not dashed their spirits as exemplified by these two sisters who are about to enjoy a hearty breakfast before a tent which is now their temporary home while their father is engaged in some other chore .A typical family scene at makeshift shelters for the tsunami displaced in Southern Sri Lanka. The tents were donated by the US Government.

Prabhakaran in first post tsunami public appearance says:

Willing to join Govt's N-E relief programme

The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) has expressed its willingness to be included in a common programme with the Government for providing relief to the stricken victims of the tsunami disaster in the North-East, before any recommencement of Peace Talks.

Relatives of dead, missing can forward affidavits to courts for death certificates

In the case of any person found dead or missing following the Tsunami tidal waves on December 26, 2004, their close relatives could forward an affidavit giving all the particulars about relatives who had died or gone missing to the Registrar of the respective Magistrate Courts to obtain the death certificate.
