Aitken Spence beach hotels, back in operation Aitken Spence Hotels announced that due to tireless work of hotel staff and volunteers, several of their hotels that were affected by the tsunami have resumed normal operations. The Hotels were fortunate to have not lost the lives of any of their guests or staff members. Of the four seaside hotels in the chain that were affected, three of them have already been made fully operational. The Neptune Hotel in Beruwela commenced full operations from 21st of January. The swimming pool and adjacent beach have been fully cleaned and restored to their former state. The Neptune Ayurveda Village which is also located in Beruwela was not affected and guests are still afforded experiencing the healing touch of the ancient art, said an official of the Aitken Spence Hotels. The Browns Beach Hotel in Negombo and Golden Sun Resort in Kalutara are welcoming guests to their respective properties as well. The food and beverage services, support services, swimming pools and beaches are available for guests. The Triton Hotel in Ahungalla is scheduled for extensive refurbishment. As a result of the tsunami damage, the refurbishment project has been impacted and has been brought forward. Thus, the repositioned 'The Triton' is scheduled to re-open in October 2005. Aitken Spence as a part of their welfare program have undertaken the project to build two villages consisting of houses. These villages are located in Ahungalla and Trincomalee. |
