The Ministry of Education is receiving a large amount of voluntary assistance for construction of schools damaged in the tsunami.

The Ministry completed last week details of schools completely or partially damaged in all affected districts, it said in a release yesterday. The offers for school reconstruction and matching the volunteer with the schools identified will be done by the Education desk at the Centre for National Operations (CNO). The public is requested to contact the Education Desk at the CNO for any offers to either reconstruct damaged schools or for any other assistance.

Centre for National Operations (CNO) Presidential Secretariat, Colombo 1, Tel: 4740277, 4740232-6, Fax: 4740231, 4733425, 2389851

Details of the schools damaged are available on the www.cnosrilanka.org web site and at the CNO Education Desk.
