December 26, 2004 will forever be etched in the country's history and in the psyche of our people. It is probably the greatest natural disaster to strike Sri Lanka in recorded history. It was sudden and unexpected and was over rather quickly, but its 'aftermath and repercussions will reverberate for years to come.
