Canon in South and SE Asia pledge $ 22,000 Canon Singapore (Pte) Ltd, the regional headquarters for South and South East Asia is spearheading a donation drive across its companies in the region to provide financial assistance in the aftermath of the tsunami catastrophe. In Sri Lanka, the company has initiated a donation of about US $ 12,000 as financial aid to assist the tsunami victims. The donation is made through the Singapore Red Cross which is coordinating fund-raising efforts. Additionally, Canon Singapore (Pte) Ltd is extending a US $ 10,000 donation for its distributor in Sri Lanka to contribute to organisations of their choice to help relief efforts. Its distributor in Sri Lanka, Metropolitan will use this fund to reconstruct some of the houses damaged in the coastal area. |
