Public private partnership plan vital

The government must have a firm development plan to give confidence to our donors. Otherwise it might give a negative impact on our country. Chairman SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry Federation Macky Hashim told a media conference in Colombo yesterday.

He said that monitoring and managing such a plan through public private partnership will be easy for the government which is very important.

The Chamber with the assistance of other chambers and bankers have sent their representatives to Kalutara, Galle, Hambantota, Jaffna, Trincomalee and Batticaloa to assess the requirements, India has agreed to give a large quantity of cement for construction and Nepal, Pakistan, EU countries and Bangladesh are also making arrangements to make various contributions to the Federation as Tsunami relief, Hashim said.
