Hansard Editor and family missing

B. Morano Amit, Editor of Hansard, Parliament and his wife, Mrs. S. Kanthi Wickremesinghe Amit, Chief Parliamentary Interpreter, Parliament together with their daughters, Shenya and Tania had left their Panadura residence in their vehicle No. JN 2841 around 7.00 a.m. on Sunday December 26 to proceed to Kataragama.

According to their driver they had stopped at Ambalangoda around 9.30 a.m. to have their breakfast and at this point the tidal wave had struck them. Ever since, Mr. and Mrs. Amit and their daughters are reporting missing. All efforts by Parliament and family members to locate them have proved futile.

Any person having any knowledge about the Amit family please contact Mrs. Hartini Samsoodeen on Tel: 2838000 or Mr. Nalin Wickremesinghe on Tel. 94-777-576501.
