US embassy hotline for Americans

The US mission in Colombo requests its citizens to contact the embassy at 0112-447035 or 0773-124815 (24-hour hotline) if they are in need of assistance. A release from the embassy states "We are working to account for all missing American citizens in the country.

If you have not called home we urge you to do so. If you have trouble calling home come to the embassy we will assist you." Address - 210 Galle Road, Colombo 3.

Colombo Law Faculty hotline

The Colombo University Faculty of law emergency numbers to receive information on missing and affected members are TP. 0112502001 - 0112500942 and fax 0112502001.

They have organised a shramadana to rehabilitate affected areas on January 7. Students who like to join this exercise must call at the Faculty on January 6 at 10.00 a.m.
