The service personnel of the three Armed Forces and the Police who were engaged in relief work in the tidal wave affected areas of Kilinochchi have donated 400 pints of blood for the benefit of the Tamil victims, states Mullaitivu District Secretary. The District Secretary disclosing this fact at a SLBC media conference praised this as a highlight of magnanimous humanism and said that out of this quantity of blood 24 pints were despatched to Kilinochchi and 80 pints to Pudukudiruppu Hospital while about 300 pints were retained in Vavuniya. This blood donation will benefit the victims of the LTTE controlled areas, he said. According to reports, there are many LTTE cadres among the victims of the tidal wave disaster. |
