Insurance benefits for nearly 650 cinema artistes

Nearly 650 artistes in the film industry will receive insurance benefits under the life insurance scheme implemented by the National Film Corporation.

These artistes who will be entitled to insurance benefits for 2004 and 2005 will receive their certificates at a special function organised by the Corporation at the New Town Hall, Colombo at 2.30 p.m. on November 19.

National Film Corporation Chairman Sunil Sirisena said among the 650 artistes who will receive these insurance benefits are actors and actresses, cameramen and technicians, musicians, editing artistes and other grades in the film industry.

These certificates will be distributed by Finance Minister Dr. Sarath Amunugama, Ports and Civil Aviation Minister Mangala Samaraweera and Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Jeevan Kumaratunga at the invitation of Cultural Affairs and National Heritage Minister Vijitha Herath and Deputy Minister Samantha Widyaratne.
