MBSL enters into Collective Agreement with Ceylon Bank Employees' Union The Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka (MBSL) recently entered into a Collective Agreement with the Ceylon Bank Employees Union (CBEU) at the office of the Employers' Federation of Ceylon. MBSL's MD/CEO Sunil G Wijesinha signed the agreement on behalf of the Bank while M.R. Shah, President of the Ceylon Bank Employees' Union signed on behalf of the CBEU's MBSL branch. This agreement covers the salary, medical and other benefits for non-executive staff of the MBSL for the year 2004-2005. "I am pleased at having entered into the collective agreement with the Ceylon Bank Employees' Union again. The process, which was entered into every two years in the past, had to be suspended for a period due to the restructuring process that was taking place within the Bank. The management is happy at being able to make this commitment again", Wijesinha said. |
