Araliya International bids for US$ 2 billion order The Araliya International Pvt Ltd, (AIPL) a local manufacturer of quality vehicle seats has been invited by the America's largest school bus manufacturing company, Blue Bird Corporation (BBC) to participate at its 'Preferred Supplier Presentation'. AIPL Chairman and Managing Director J. T. Weerasuriya will conduct a presentation on October 27 at Atlanta, USA in a bid to win a US$ 2 billion order to supply vehicle seats to the BBC during the next five years. The BBC, manufacturing over US$ 600 million worth of school buses, commercial and luxury buses annually, invites a few international manufacturers of vehicles components to this program especially taking the quality of products by the participants into consideration. Araliya International is the first local company to be invited to this program and the company is determined to win this order, Weerasuriya said. The comany is the first to introduce new technology to manufacture internationally standard automobile, boat and motorcycle seats and exported its first shipment to Japan last May. The company is currently manufacturing seats for the observation compartments of the Sri Lanka Railways, he said. "BBC is one of the world's leading bus manufacturers which supply recreational vehicles too to the market in USA and North America each year has selected us for this presentation for our quality products, he said. We are determined to convince them of our quality and capacity to fulfill their requirements and obtain this order, which would certainly help generate employment, earn foreign exchange and growth of the national economy, Weerasuriya said. |
