The Colombo Stock Exchange which witnessed profit taking on Thursday recorded positive gains yesterday due to fresh buying. The All Share Price Index jumped to 1,453.40 points from 1,443.70 points on Thursday. The Milanka Price Index increased 2,156.60 points from 2,132.30 points. The turnover for the day was Rs. 276,548,316. Domestic purchases were Rs. 3,131.00 million and foreign purchases Rs. 204 million. The day's top five gainers were Ceylon Inv, Royal Ceramics, Colonial MTR, Elephant Lite and Vanik Incorp Ltd. Royal Ceramics, CF Venture Fund, Taj Lanka and Ceylinco Ins. |
