by Malmi Sellahannadi The "Save The Children Surgery Mercy of Sri Lanka" launched their "Heart Beat 2004" fund raising sticker campaign aimed at helping Lankans suffering from heart ailments, at Taj Samudra Hotel last Tuesday. The Minister of Health Nimal Siripala de Silva participated as the chief guest at the ceremony. The Minister said that he was taking action to upgrade the operations theatre at the Lady Ridgeway Hospital next year. The Minister purchased the first sticker of the Association. The organisation launched several humanitarian programs with the assistance of the Sri Lankan community in UK and the staff of Standard Chartered Bank, said secretary of the Association Hilmi Junaid.
