Indices, turnover up at Bourse

Hotel and property shares dominated trading at the Bourse yesterday.

The ASPI and the Milanka jumped from 1,443.30 points and 2,139.40 points on Monday to 1,449.50 and 2,159.60 respectively.

The turnover increased from Rs.273, 068,054 on Monday to Rs.509, 169,590. Domestic purchases were Rs.390, 766,853 and foreign purchases Rs.118, 402,738.

The heavily traded shares were Ahot Properties, Blue Diamonds, Colombo Land, Connaissance, Distilleries, Eden Hotel Lanka, JKH, Reef comber, Royal Ceramics and Taj Lanka.

The top five gainers were CIT, ACL Plastics, Taj Lanka, Browns Beach and Kandy Hotels.
