Dilshan recovers from injury Elmo Rodrigopulle reporting from England The good news in the Sri Lankan camp is that the stitches on Tillekeratne Dilshan's hand which he injured during the final one-dayer against South Africa has been taken off. 'He is feeling good and will definitely take the field against Zimbabwe at the Oval on September 14,' said manager Ajit Jayasekera. The Lankans had a net at the Oval and every player had a go, and if the manner in which they performed is an indication, then there is no reason why they should not be concerned at the finish. In the practice game against New Zealand in Shenley, the Lankans had a few jitters, but rallied strongly to beat their opponents. 'True we were a bit worried at one stage. But winning is the thing and this the boys did and this should give them tremendous confidence,' said the manager. It is said the English press is not giving this cricket extravaganza the publicity it requires. The ICC Champions Trophy hardly finds space in the papers. Probably they feel that the game of cricket is time consuming and are giving their all to soccer. England did well to beat Poland 2-1 and put their match for the next World Cup on track. All papers have given the maximum coverage for this victory. |
