No major Cabinet reshuffle

by Manjula Fernando and Nadira Gunatilleke

The Government yesterday denied that a major Cabinet reshuffle is forthcoming to make way for Ceylon Workers Congress (CWC) members to take seats within the Government.

Cabinet spokesman and Minister Mangala Samaraweera said there will not be a major Cabinet reshuffle in view of the CWC uniting with the Government.

Speaking at yesterday's weekly Cabinet press briefing, Samaraweera said the Government has decided to offer one ministerial post and two deputy posts for the CWC "but there would not be a major reshuffle" due to this new turn of events.
