Sufi Sheik brings the message of brotherhood

by M. Rukunudeen Naqshbandiyya Haqqaniyya Tariqat, Sri Lanka

Sheik Muhammed Adnan Kabbani

Sheik Muhammed Adnan Kabbani, deputy to Moulana Sayyidina Sultan ul Awliya Sheik Muhammed Nazim Adil al Haqqani an Naqshbandi (world leader of the most distinguished Golden Chain of Spiritual Master of the Naqshbandi Tariqa Sufi order) is in Sri Lanka.

The Naqshbandi Tariqa Sufi order originally was called Sideeqia, thereafter Tayfuriyya, Kwajaganiyya, Naqshbandiyya, Naqshbandiyaa Mujaddiyya, Naqshbandiyya Khalidiyya, Naqshbandiyya Dagestaniyya and today by the name Naqshbandiyya Haqqaniyya led by the 40th and the last Sufi master Moulana Sayyidina Sultan ul Awliya Sheik Muhammed Nazim Adil al Haqqani to be followed by Sayyidina Muhammad al Mahdi and Sayyidina Easa with the coming of the beginning of end of times as said by the Holy Prophet Muhammed based on the 101 predictions of which 99 is completed today, leading to the day of judgment.

Abu Bakr As' Sideeque was the only companion of the Holy Prophet Muhammed on his fight from persecution in Mecca to shelter in Madina, "The second of two when they were in the caves" (Quarn 9:40). Omar said, "I wish all deeds of my life were equal to his deed of that one day."

Ibn Abbas said, that one day the Prophet Muhammed went to the mosque, wrapped his head with a cloth, sat on the minbar, and said "if I were to take anyone as my intimate friend, I would take Abu Bakr As' Sideeque, but the best friend to me is the friendship of Islam".

He then ordered all doors of the neighbouring houses which open into the mosque of the Prophet Muhammed to be closed except the one of Abu Bakr As' Sideeque and that door is still open to this day.

The four Imaams and the Sheiks of the Naqshbandi order understand from this tradition that anyone who approaches God through the teachings and example of Abu Bakr As' Sideeque will find himself passing through the only door open to the presence of the Holy Prophet Muhammed.

The Prophet Muhammed also have said as related by Tirmidhi," I am the city of wisdom and Sayyidina Ali is the Door". This wisdom is the heavenly wisdom possessed only by prophets and their inheritors the saints (Awliyas).

This is how the forty one Tariqat's were established in the history of Islam, all forty leading to the door of Sayyidina Ali and only one Tariqat leading to the door of Abu Bakr which takes you to the heart of Holy Prophet Muhammed divine presence, through the Naqshbandi way.

This secret was passed down through the forty Golden Chain of Spiritual Masters of the most distinguished Naqshbandi Tariqat, Now led by Moulana Sayyidina Sheik Nazim al Haqqani, to be followed with the coming of the Last Imam Sayyidina Mahdi and Sayyidina Easa (Prophet Jesus) leading to the beginning of the end of times, and to the day of Judgement.

Today, Moulana Sheik Muhammed Nazim Adil al Haqqani preaches this message the world-over and gets people more involved in the Sufi Way of Islamic life, spreading love into the hearts of people and bringing them into the path of truth.

His deputy His Holiness Moulana Sheik Muhammed Adnan Kabbani joins him in this endeavour by doing same. We are blessed by Almighty Allah and Rasulullah in this holy month of Rajab to be with one of his friends, the Awliyas.

Sheik Muhammed Adnan Kabbani along with Moulana Sayyidina Sultan ul Awliya Sheik Muhammed Nazim Adil al Haqqani an Naqshbandi followed the same Grandsheik Sultan ul Awliya Moulana Abdullah Faiz Dhagistani the 39th Grandsheik of the Naqshbandi Sufi Order for a period of over 30 years.

Moulana Sayyidina Sultan ul Awliya Sheik Muhammed Nazim Adil al Haqqani an' Naqshbandi succeeded his Grandsheik in 1972. Since then His Holiness Sheik Muhammed Adnan Kabbani has been serving as deputy to Moulana Sayyidina Sultan ul Awliya Sheik Muhammed Nazim Adil al Haqqani an' Naqshbandi to date.

Insha Allah he will be conducting the Jummah at Sheikh Usman Voliullah Masjid at Dewatagha today September 3 at the Grand Mosque Colombo.

His Holiness visited Sri Lanka for the firs time in 1992 with his Sheik Moulana Sayyidina Sultan ul Awliya Sheik Muhammed Nazim Adil al Haqqani an' Naqshbandi. At our humble request his Sheik requested him to visit Sri Lanka and bless his mureeds and friends with his divine grace.

His visit here Insha Allah will be for 11 days and he would be visiting Kalutara, Galle, Poruwa and Kataragama. He will be staying at the Naqshbandi Makaam at 24, 28th Lane, off Flower Road, Colombo 07. Daily speeches will be delivered by him after Fajr prayers at the Naqshbandi Makaam.
