Investors go for Nawaloka shares

Nawaloka shares changed the market direction yesterday as local and foreign investors went for Nawaloka shares. Five million shares of Nawaloka changed hands at attractive prices - the high being Rs. 27.50.

Stock Brokers said that Nawaloka shares would be in demand today too and overall sentiment has been positive.

The All Share Price Index closed at 1,405.00 points and the Milanka Price Index increased to 2,087.80 points from 2,086.50 on Wednesday . The turnover for the day was Rs 297,191,851. Nawaloka, JKH, Colombo Land and Blue Diamonds were heavily traded.

Domestic purchases were Rs 2,588 million and foreign purchases Rs 322 million.
