Pannala race meet to come up to international level By Bernard Perera The newly formed Asian Motor Racing Club has combined themselves with Motor Racing Association to conduct a Race Meet at Pannala international circuit on September 5. The meet is to have only selected events on this day. For the first time the timings will be done according to international standards. To have this done at the meet the organisers have brought in new equipment and an Indian team to handle this equipment. There will be two practice days Sept. 3rd (Friday) and Sept. 4 (Saturday) with strict timings to educate the drivers properly on this issue which is considered seriously for the final position on the starting list. The organisers which consist of senior drivers and marketing experts hope to strictly adhere to international rules, with this in mind they have issued a schedule before hand. This will help not only the drivers but also the spectators. The organiser also have laid down strict condition for the events where a minimum of eleven and a maximum of 20 competitors will take part. This will give the spectators their money's worth as a race is due to attract more drivers introducing thrilling events. The drivers are compelled to weigh their cars on all three days abiding by the new rules. According to organisers for the first time the winners are to receive cash awards in addition to trophies on offer. The organiser expect a massive crowd of over 20,000 for which all amenities are readily available. The spectators are assured of a full day filled with spills and thrills. |
