Deeghavapi stupa rehabilitation project : Ministry to ensure effective use of funds by Nadira Gunatilleke The Cultural Affairs and National Heritage Ministry has made arrangements to monitor Deeghavapi Stupa Rehabilitation project closely to ensure the effective use of funds. The project is jointly implemented by the Archaeological Department and the Central Cultural Fund (CCF), a Ministry spokesman said. He said that arrangements have already been made to use funds received from the public effectively. All funds donated by the general public will be promptly directed to the CCF and they will be used only for Deeghavapi Stupa Rehabilitation Project. The Ministry informs the public that permission has not been given to any person or organisation to raise funds for the Deeghavapi Stupa Rehabilitation Project. Therefore the Ministry, CCF or the Department of Archaeology will not be responsible for the funds donated to any other person or organisation in connection with Deeghavapi Stupa Rehabilitation Project. All persons and organisations who wish to contribute to the Deeghavapi Stupa Rehabilitation Project should send their donations to the Director General, Central Cultural Fund, No.1/212, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo 7 and obtain a receipt. Since the total cost of the project is high, the Ministry requests the public to donate funds. |
