Tribute to Coomaraswamy America has once again paid tribute to the great Sri Lankan savant, Ananda Coomaraswamy with the publication of a new volume of his selected writings by World Wisdom Books. This important event coincides with the 127th anniversary of Coomaraswamy's birth in Colombo on August 22, 1877. Entitled 'The Essential Ananda K. Coomaraswamy' and edited by his son, Dr. Rama Coomaraswamy, himself a leading scholar in the field of studies pioneered by his father, this impressive volume is expected the writings of this outstanding scholar to the attention of those younger Americans who have not as yet encountered his work. India too is in the forefront of Coomaraswamy studies with the publication in Delhi of a complete bibliography of his writings following their earlier publication of his Selected Letters. |
