Over 3000 complaints for politcal victimization committee

The Political Victimisation Investigation Committee of the Transport Ministry has so far received petitions from over 3,000 public servants politically victimised under the previous regime, Ministry sources said.

The victims who have so far forwarded petitions are employees from various State institutions that come under the Transport Ministry. Meanwhile, the Committee has also decided to extend the deadline for petitions on political victimisation until August 21.

"Employees of any institution under the Transport Ministry who had been subjected to political violence during the period from December 2001 to April 2004 would be eligible to forward petitions to this Committee," the Ministry stated. Applications for this purpose can be obtained from the head of the respective institution and should be sent to the committee only through him. Another copy of the application should be set to the Committee directly.
