Committee to reorganize UNP

UNP leader and Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe has assigned the party reorganisation activities to a committee presided by N.G.P. Panditharatne.

Accordingly the committee has already started to gather information from islandiwde UNP activists, professionals and various organisations within a limited time frame. The report of the committee is to be handed over to UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe within three months.

Management Consultant Ranil Wijesinghe is the Secretary and Convenor of the committee.

The other members of the committee are: Women activist Indrani Eriyagolla, retired Administrative Officer R.S. Jayaratne, Peradeniya University Political Science Faculty Professor M.O.A. de Soysa, Specialist in community health, Dr. M.R. Haniffa, Economic and Political Analyst Dinesh Weerakkody, Lawyer Gowry Thawarasa, retired Administrative Officer Palitha Elkaduwa, Lawyer Kanthi Perera, trade unions representatives Palitha Atukorala, Lawyer K. Wivekanandan, Wayamba University Lecturer Aminda Perera, Professional representatives Mahesh Katulanda, Sarasavi Yowun Peramuna ex-member Indika Bandara.
