by Sarath Malalasekera The Colombo Crime Division (CCD) which had taken over investigations into Saturday's killing of senior PLOTE member Kandiah Yogarasa alias PLOTE Mohan on a directive by IGP Indra de Silva yesterday despatched a special police team to Batticaloa to trace the mastermind behind the killing. According to police, the suspect had left his lodge in Colombo immediately after the incident. Investigations reveal that the suspect had left Batticaloa on July 29 and arrived in Colombo the following day and arrived at the lodge at 6 p.m. PLOTE Mohan, a close associate of LTTE dissident Karuna was shot on Saturday noon in Colombo by unidentified gunmen. Investigators suspect the LTTE's pistol gang to be behind the killing. |
