Massive mandate for Freedom Alliance

The resounding victory at the July 10 Provincial Council Elections has given power and strength to the United People's Freedom Alliance to move forward with its "Country Forward" program for the country's development.

Perusing through the graphic above, one will see the massive mandate the UPFA received at the PC elections. The UPFA has won 123 seats, 74 per cent of the total voted. The UNP along with the CWC and the SLMC has cut a sorry figure with just 13 seats, just eight per cent.

No elections were held in the North and East. That amounts to 24 seats, just 18 per cent.
