Dark era for fibre industry

There are hundreds of fibre mills successfully operated in this area and suburbs in the past, but at present more than 50 percent of them are not operated and some are about to cease production, and out of the rest some mills work only 2-3 days per week with the intention of keeping the labourers not allowing them to wander about and also to give a helping hand to earn their living.

The major two problems for the drawback of the industry were the lack of machinemen and secondly the lack of husks in these areas. It is said there were a few old men who are skilled to operate fibre drums are attached to the industry on very high daily payments with all facilities and young men do not practise to operate fibre drums.

Partition of lands into small portions and sale under auctions were the second major reason for not having husks to run the industry.

Due to these reasons some fibre millers have started fibre cutting machines which resulted only mixed fibre without No. 1 Bristol fibre and for doing this the millers had to go to distant areas on fetching husks competitively.
