The Preliminary Agreement to inaugurate a series of new postal services between the Sri Lanka Postal Department and the Postal Services of Emirates was signed at the Sri Lanka Postal Department Headquarters, Colombo recently. The agreement is signed to ensure a better postal service to the Sri Lankan expatriates in the Gulf Region, Middle East. Post, Telecommunication and Up-country Development Minister D.M. Jayaratne with his Deputy Rohitha Abeygunewardena and Secretary C. Maliyadda initiated action in this regard. The Agreement was signed by Post Master General K.A.S. Senadheera on behalf of the Sri Lanka Postal Department and Abdulla Ibrahim Aldabroos, Director General of Emirates Postal Service on behalf of the United Arab Emirates. The Agreement enables the Postal Department of Sri Lanka to operate a new International Money Order Service, an International Express Postal Service and a Foreign Parcels Service between Sri Lanka and United Arab Emirates. |
