Murali a UN ambassador

World record holder Muttiah Muralitharan, who has the highest number of Test wickets to his name, is taking on an entirely different role as an Ambassador of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP).

He will be a high-profile addition to the WFP's multi-faceted campaign to end hunger and poverty, beginning with the 'Walk the World' event on Sunday organised by WFP's corporate partner TNT, the international logistics company. Murali, as he is affectionately known, will talk about hunger in Sri Lanka and the global anti-hunger awareness campaign at this event.
