Pan Asia Bank achieves more in first four months -MD/CEO

Managing Director/CEO Pan Asia Bank R. Nadarajah said that the bank during the first four months of this year had achieved more than what it achieved in the first nine months of last year. This performance was a clear indicator of the direction and development taking place in the Bank.

He was delivering the welcome address at the opening of the Bank's 18th on line branch at Old Moor Street last week.

Nadarajah said the Bank's prime strength was the commitment for service of its staff, which will continuously and consciously be nurtured to reach excellence.

The Bank's decision to open this Branch in a prime business centre was mainly based on the performance of the last four branches opened during the past six months. Growth from the last four branches already account for over Rs. 600 million in deposits.

The Chief Guest at the opening Dammika Perera said that his greatest joy was the turnaround and success of the Bank in the recent time and that he felt a great sense of contentment in observing every progressive step taken by the Bank.

"It was often felt that a Bank is an institution that gives an umbrella when the sun shines and takes it back when it rains, Pan Asia was geared to understanding the requirements of their customers and would provide an umbrella in sunshine or rain."

Guest of Honour Chairman of the Bank Abeyratne Bandara said that this Bank was not looking to exploit its customers and they believed in serving their customers well at a reasonable price and to delight customers so that the Bank and the customer could have mutually beneficial growth.

Commenting on the opening Deputy CEO of the Bank Bradley Emerson said that the prudent management and control of resources has helped to not only turn around the Bank in a very short time frame but also helped to offer its valued customers the benefits of cost reductions.

The Manager of the new Branch is Teddy Sebastianpillai, a senior Banker with over 15 years' experience.
