Atapattu appointed captain Sri Lanka Cricket confirmed yesterday that Marvan Atapattu has been appointed captain of Sri Lanka for the tour of Zimbabwe later this month. At a press conference held after the AGM yesterday, newly elected president Mohan de Silva said that Atapattu had been appointed captain for both Tests and one-day internationals and approval was awaited from the Ministry of Sports. Atapattu who was Sri Lanka's one-day captain succeeds Hashan Tillakaratne who was the country's Test captain. |
