Freedom Alliance will contest in all districts

The Freedom Alliance has finalised its 262 nominees for the forthcoming General Election and they will contest for 22 districts including the North and East, PA party secretary D.M. Jayaratne told the Daily News.

The main partner of the Freedom Alliance, the SLFP has listed 207 candidates and JVP 38, MEP 4, Communist Party 4, LSSP 4, National Unity Alliance 2, Sri Lanka Mahajana Pakshaya 2, Desha Vimukti Janatha Paksaya 1.

The SLFP will contest in all districts including Jaffna while the JVP will contest for 21 districts excluding Jaffna. The MEP will contest in the Colombo and Galle Districts, Communist Party will file each nominee for the Colombo, Matara, Ratnapura and Anuradhapura districts.

The LSSP will field a nominee each for the Colombo, Galle, Kalutara and Kegalle districts. The National Unity Alliance will field its nominees for the Digamadulla and Batticaloa districts.

The Sri Lanka Mahajana Paksaya will field a nominee for the Kurunegala district.
