Launch of Jennings Print Care - a boost for industry The country's printing and packaging industry received a boost with the launch of Jennings Print Care Lanka Ltd, a joint venture between Jennings DAR Ltd, UK and Printcare (Ceylon) Ltd. Speaking at the launch ceremony at the company premises in Kelaniya, Stephen Evans, High Commissioner for the United Kingdom commended the Board of Investment (BOI) for its ability to cut through the red tape in establishing the company's presence here in Sri Lanka. He said that one of the things that attracted investors to Sri Lanka was the BOI's "can do" attitude which helped make most investor companies' ideas and concepts, a reality. Stephen Boardman, Managing Director and CEO of Jennings Printcare Lanka Limited said that the company's main goal was to use its combination of skilled and dedicated people and state of the art technologies, to build a customer focused team that aimed at exceeding customer expectations via its product innovations. He said that the local company's major USP was its ability to do reciprocal work with the UK and thereby enhance the synergies between the UK and Sri Lankan companies. "For example, we receive artworks from the UK in the evening hours and transmit artworks back to the UK via a dedicated line to meet their deadlines, which is the first reciprocal facility of its kind within the printing and packaging industry in the country," he said. Considerable investment in various technologies, has been made by the new company, including a Computer To Plate (CTP) device utilising thermal imaging heads, high quality digital proofing devices capable of being controlled and calibrated remotely to ensure consistency of product, and on-line proofing to speed up and ease the approval process. |
