CID to submit further report to Attorney General by Sarath Malalasekera The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) probing into the incident involving the sons of two Ministers will submit a further report to the Attorney General seeking his advice in connection with the damage caused to the official vehicle used by the complainants on the day of the incident at a night club in Colombo. Upto yesterday afternoon, the CID had not received the cost of the damage caused to Minister Kabeer Hashim's official vehicle. Colombo Fort Magistrate and Additional District Judge Sarath C. Karunaratne granted bail on Friday for six suspects including the two sons of Minister S. B. Dissanayake and a son of Minister Mahinda Wijesekera. They were directed to appear in court on January 27.Earlier the court on a CID application impounded the ministers' sons' passports and informed the Immigration and Emigration authorities about the Court order. A senior CID officer said yesterday the complainants had indicated to court that both parties were willing to settle the matter amicably. The six suspects who surrendered to the CID on Friday through Minister Wijesekera were later produced before the Magistrate. The Ministers' sons are alleged to have assaulted some relatives of Minister Hashim injuring several persons at the night club. Earlier IGP Indra de Silva appointed a high powered team to investigate the incident. |
