Showcasing artists’ talents
The Kala Pola at Ananda Coomaraswamy Mawatha, Colombo 7 yesterday attracted a large number of artists. Held on the pavements opposite the Art Gallery, Kala Pola is Colombo’s most successful and popular artistic event and was presented for the first time in July 1993 and thereafter every January. The Kala Pola has been presented by the George Keyt Foundation annually and has become a festival and testing ground for artists and aspiring artists. Picture by Wimal Karunatillaka
