IVECO launched in Sri Lanka

United Motors Lanka Ltd took a another step forward in the Automobile trade last Friday when they introduced the Iveco luxury coaches for the efficient service of Travel Trade.

The launch which took place at BMICH, saw the leading travel agents present to receive the coaches.

The launching ceremony was attended by Minister for Tourism Gamini Lokuge, Sim Guoxiang Ambassador for People's Republic of China Jiang Chengxun, the representative from CBC of Shanghai/IVECO SPA Italy and Chairman Mahendra Amarasuriya CEO and Managing Director UML Anil Jayasinghe, Paddy Vithana, Chairman, Tourist Board and Secretary to the Minister of Tourism P. Ramanujan.

Minister Lokuge speaking on the occasion said the "It is time for us to improve the tourist industry in Sri Lanka, tourist arrivals will increase in the near future the Ministry expect around 450,000 this year from which around 200,000 will be from the premium class.

To serve these class we need a super class travel service, with the attention being made by United Motors Ltd and bringing the latest model of coaches for the purpose in a great step towards the promotion." It is a boost for the tourist industry we must thank them.

United Motors Lanka Ltd has taken this latest step as it considers the necessasity of luxury coaches for the development of tourism in this country.

The UML has chosen the Iveco coaches for this purpose as it serves the European Nations in the field of tourism. The UML has served the nation in a big way with their products in the past and hope to expand their transport activities with the introduction of the latest addition.

The Iveco is a product coming from the joint venture with the Italy's SPA / CBC of China. The CEO/MD Anil Jayasinghe said the UML latest addition had liking of all the leading Travel Traders and they have picked up the whole consignment. This shows the confidence the customers have in UML.

Here too we are ready come out with all necessary after sales services for the Iveco, he said.

Iveco is a luxury coach equipped with all modern facilities needed for super class tourists. The 41 seater has all comforts the tourist requires according to individual requirements. At the launch, 12 of the coaches were handed over to leading tour operators.
