Special Infantry passing out parade in Jaffna by Ramani Kangaraarachchi It was my objective to make you all perfect soldiers who can certainly defeat the enemy and safeguard the sovereignty and integrity of our country, said Maj. General Sarath Fonseka, Security Forces Commander for Jaffna addressing the officers and soldiers who passed out after completing "Special Infantry Operations Course" yesterday. He said that the Army Commander was positive about approving this course within the Army and hoped he would be able to make it successful with his new appointment as Director General Infantry Regiments. The soldiers who passed out yesterday followed an extensive four month specialised training course at Minneriya, Maduruoya, Diyatalawa, Kuda Oya and Palaly. They were selected from various regiments of the Army. The course was a concept of Gen. Fonseka and this was the second intake of the course. A demonstration of a special operation, motorcycle exercise and parachute jumps were conducted after the parade. |
