Asian Paints listed in Forbes 'Best under a Billion companies' Asian Paints, the India-based multinational with extensive operating interests in the Asian, African, Middle Eastern regions including Sri Lanka, has become the only paint company in the world to be listed in The Forbes Global '200 Best under a Billion dollar' companies in the world for 2003. Forbes magazine is among the world's leading business magazines and considered the most trusted information resource for the world's business and investment leaders. Around 19,000 companies outside the USA were scrutinised on profitability, earnings and sales growth. Forbes Global spoke to fund managers, analysts and industry watchers to spot the 200 best companies with brief operating histories but promising futures. All these corporations have revenues below USD 1 Billion. Asian Paints (Lanka) Director/General Manager M. Sudhir said this accolade would further reinforce Asian Paints' standing in Sri Lanka where the company has become a significant player in the local market through the manufacture of many international standard products. With a group turnover of approximately US $430 million, Asian Paints is India's largest paint company and is ranked among the top 10 Decorative Coatings Companies in the world. Asian Paints and its subsidiaries have operations in 24 countries and are the market leaders in eleven countries. Asian Paints has manufacturing facilities in India, Australia, Bangladesh, Egypt, Fiji, Mauritius, Nepal, Oman, Sri Lanka, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, China, Baharain, Barbados, Dubai, Jamaica, Malaysia, Malta, Myanmar, Singapore, Samoa Islands, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago. |
