More smiles for Sanath, Marvan and Murali

Three of the most outstanding Sri Lankan cricketers, Sanath Jayasuriya, Marvan Atapattu and Muttiah Muralitheran will be having more smiles writ on their faces. This is because they have tied up with TVS Motorcycles.

TVS motorcycles which is fast becoming popular in the country was first endorsed by champion Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar. Now Jayasuriya, Atapattu and Muralitheran join the exalted company of Tendulkar.

TVS Lanka (Pvt) Ltd is a company in the United Motors Group and the trio of cricketers will act as brand ambassadors of TVS.

United Motors who held a press conference at the Hilton on Friday, proudly announced the tying-up with TVS and the cricketers.

Chairman of United Motors, Mahendra Amarasuirya announcing the tie-up said they are proud to have three of Sri Lanka's top cricketers endorsing the TVS motorcycles. Amarasuriya described the three cricketers thus: Jayasuriya as the most exciting, Atapattu as the most technicaliy correct cricketer and an example to youngsters wanting to take up to the game and Muralitheran as unique.

He said that Jayasuriya was not only popular in Sri Lanka but in India as well. He also revealed that some of the girls were so crazy about Jayasuriya that some of them had pictures of him hanging in their bedrooms.

Amarasuriya also said that when the World Cup was played in 1996, the LTTE even declared a peace so as to watch the excitement unfolding.

Amarasuriya also thanked the dynamic board of sales personnel at United Motors for getting the three cricketers to tie up with TVS.

He also revealed the introducing of the Evolution 8 Mitsubishi Lancer to the country, which he said would be fast selling once car enthusiasts get to know about it.

In this aspect Managing Director Anil Wijesinghe has done wonders. It can be said that while Mitsubishi was inventing the Evolution, Wijesinghe was creating a revolution in the car market by making Mitsubishi vehicles the best selling in the country.

Amarasuriya also announced that United Motors Lanka Ltd. has been appointed as the official transport provider to the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka.

The vehicles, on a hiring basis that would be offered are the Mitsubishi Lancer 2003 which was launched at the Dambulla Stadium. This sleek vehicle joins the Mitsubishi range and is expected to be a winner. The package offered has been very reasonable because UM is all out to promote the game in the country.

TVS Motorcycles were also gifted to award winners during the Dambulla tourney. ER
