They have been appointed after the resignation of elected members on party orders. Meanwhile, a JVP Spokesman said they are seeking legal advice in this regard now. North Central Province Chief Minister Berty Premalal Dissanayake and Western Province Chief Minister Reginald Cooray were not available for comment.Coordinating Secretary to Chief Minister Dissanayake Sarath Bandara told the Daily News that the Chief Minister believes that the Supreme Court decision on the Uva Province Chief Minister does not affect him as there is no direct court order preventing him from functioning as the Chief Minister of the North Central Province. |
