Rousing win for CH

CH and FC scored a rousing 82 points to 25 win over Old Zahirians SC in their Caltex inter club A division league rugby tournament match played at Maitland Crescent yesterday

CH and FC collected their points from five goals, one penalty goal and eight tries after having led 50-6 at half time. Old Zairians SC did well to score two tries and put over five penalties.

Winger Pradeep Sivakantha scored five tries, centre Jim Bolokoro scored three and winger Dinesh Kumara planted two tries. In addition hooker Sameera Wijesinghe, Senaka Bandara, Dinuk de S. Wijeratne scored a try each. Nalin Dissanayake converted five tries while Roy Nishantha converted one try.

Riyaz Hanis and Kishor Dinesh scored a try each for Old Zahirians SC with the former putting over a penalty and captain Rizwan Manan cnverting four penalties. D. Nimal refereed.

Havies beat Airmen 47/12

Havelocks SC put up another fine performance as they defeated Air Force SC 47-12 in their Caltex inter club A division league rugby tournament match played at Katunayake yesterday.

The winners collected their points from three goals, four tries and one penalty having led 18-7 at half time. Air Force SC responded with a goal and a try.
