Responding to the crisis created by the floods and landslides in the South Denmark wishes to express its support to the Sri Lankan people and provide relief assistance to the victims living in the affected areas. In order to provide immediate assistance the Royal Danish Embassy has agreed to follow up on the appeal of the Ministry of Social Services for rapid provision of food for affected people. The distribution of food packages and kitchen utensils on an urgent basis will be carried out by Sewa Lanka Foundation, mostly in the two districts of Galle and Hambantota. This short term operation will amount to Rs. 4 million. |
