New German partner for famous Pacific shipping

Global freight services and NVOCC operator Famous Pacific Shipping has taken an important step towards fulfilling its ambitions in the European markets with the appointment of a new partner in Germany.

Hamburg based Emons-Impex Speditions GmbH, part of the Emons Group, now joins the global network of Famous Pacific Shipping, which has expanded rapidly from its Asian beginnings to offer almost complete global coverage, said a company press release.

"The appointment of Emons-Impex Speditions will enable our network to offer bigger and better business services to our customers throughout the huge German market, which also acts as a gateway to other parts of Europe", said benny Ling, Chairman of Famous Pacific Shipping.

"It is significant that Emons-Impex Speditions is based in Hamburg as the city is one of the world's leading foreign trade centres and the undisputed number one trading gateway in Germany. It also provides a gateway to the growing markets in Eastern Europe and beyond. 40% of Germany's trade with Asia, 30% of its trade with Africa and 20% of its trade with latin America are handled through Hamburg, and Emons-Impex Speditions has long experience of these markets.

"Without expert help Hamburg can be a place in which to do business with more than 2,300 foreign trade firms operating from there. Emons-Impex Speditions can help existing customers of the EPS global network to develop their links, as well as help new customers get started in one of Europe's powerhouses, said Ling.

The independent Emons forwarding group is family-owned with its head office in Cologne. A total of about 900 mainly specialised staff are employed at 17 branches throughout Germany, with more in Switzerland and Italy.

Emons-Impex Speditions handles all overseas movements of sea and airfreight in Hamburg for customers of the Emons Group with 25 staff and its own warehouse of 2,500 sq m including a bonded area.
