"Flying With One Wing" directed by Asoka Handagama bagged two awards at the 16th Singapore International Film Festival Silver Screen Awards Ceremony held in Singapore yesterday. Asoka Handagama won the Special Jury Prize and Anoma Janadari won the Best Actress Award. The Special Jury Prize was given to Asoka Handagama " for its audacious cinematic portrait of a woman caught between the repressive power of a patriarchal society and her own masculine aspirations". The judges awarded the Best Actress Award to Anoma Janadari " for her sensitive portrayal of the struggle faced by an underclass woman with male desires."
