10th death anniversary of President Premadasa

Several events will be held today to mark the 10th death anniversary of President Ranasinghe Premadasa.

The main commemorative ceremony will take place under State patronage near the Premadasa Statue at Hulftsdorp at 8 a.m. Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, Mrs. Hema Premadasa, Deputy Minister Sajith Premadasa, Dulanjalie Premadasa, Rohan Jayakody and other family members will place floral tributes at the statue. Ministers, Deputy Ministers and Provincial Councillors will participate.

Power and Energy Minister Karu Jayasuriya will open the newly renamed Ranasinghe Premadasa Hospital (formerly the Colombo Central Hospital) at the invitation of Premadasa Centre Chairman B. Sirisena Cooray this morning.

An almsgiving organised by the Sri Sucharitha Movement and Municipal Councillor Vijitha Kadiragonna will be held at the Poorvaramaya, Dias Place at 11 a.m.
