Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe in a May Day message said the economic development of a country and the high living standard of its people depend on its labour resource. The responsibility of providing high quality products and services for the welfare of the people is cast on policy makers and workers. The message added:- "It is a pleasure to see the professionals, technologists and skilled labour as well as farmers and workers working hard with dedication and responsibility for the success of the development programmes launched by us. We believe that the success of our efforts to rebuild the country is depended on the unstinted support and co-operation received from the workers." I hope that all those labouring and toiling hard and devoting their knowledge for the country's development and progress gain added strength and courage to render a still more vigorous service for the future welfare of the nation. |
