Ex-Thomian skipper Artie Lankatilleke dies

The oldest living Thomian cricketer and captain of 1923, Artie Lankatilleke passed away peacefully on April 24 in Kandy at a private nursing home.

He was 99 years of age and would have reached the century on the 30th of July this year. In crcketing parlance he was unfortunately out just a run short of his century.

He leaves behind six daughters and several grand children.

Funeral arrangements will be notified later.
