Ananda College will face a tough task when they confront giant killers Dharmaraja College Kandy in the Elephant Lemonade Cup inter school knock out limited overs cricket tournament final at the SSC grounds, Maitland Place today.

Both Ananda and Dharmaraja did not look the teams who could make it even up to the semifinals when the tournament began two weeks ago. But despite the heavy odds against them they have rallied around through their limited resources and are just one step away from winning the title. The Rajans were somewhat fortunate because they won a crucial quarterfinal game against Royal on a toss of a coin.

The Kandy lads however produced their best performance in the current season when they toppled the more fancied D. S. Senanayake team by a close margin of four runs in a thrilling semifinal fixture. This win should certainly give the Rajans the much needed confidence before taking on their opponents in the final.

The Anandians after a pretty ordinary season in the 'A' division league tournament have bounced back into recognition with some outstanding contributions in the knock out competition. They have been playing extremely well during the latter stages of the season and their historic win over the traditional rivals Nalanda in the Big Match was probably the turning point of their success.
