Puruvankar Company, a consortium in Bangalore, India will build a Rs. 1 billion commercial building called Union Towers at Union Place, Colombo under the Sustainable Cities program on the initiative of Housing and Plantation Infrastructure Minister Arumugam Thondaman. The proposed building will consist of office space, a car park, luxury flats and indoor sports facilities. Here Ravi Puravankar, Chairman, Purvankar Company and Krishan Deheragoda, Chairman, Sustainable Cities Project sign the agreement at the Housing Ministry at Battaramulla recently.

ADB President to announce country strategy for Lanka

Asian Development Bank President Tadao Chino will be here on a four-day official visit beginning Thursday to announce the country strategy for Sri Lanka. He will also study the Government's core strategies on the peace process and economic reforms program to provide enhanced assistance to Sri Lanka.
